Dr. Rosette Burakari Adera is Pillar College’s Chair of the Department of Business Administration and Management. She teaches courses in management, human resources, social entrepreneurship, and business ethics at graduate and undergraduate levels. Rosette brings an international/global perspective to her teaching and research, focusing on organizational diversity, ethics, behavior, and justice. She has a talent for academic programming and curriculum design, which can be seen in her department’s recently approved MBA in Social Sector Management.
Rosette’s current committee and board work includes Pillar College’s Curriculum Committee and Garden of Hope Foundation (Kenya), and as International Coordinator for Women Graduates-USA (a division of Graduate Women International). She is also involved in several ministries, including teaching the Sunday school/children’s ministry at her local church.
In her spare time, Dr. Adera engages in human rights discourse, with a special focus on conflict and its effects on people, pedagogy, and policies. Her work in this area concentrates on the rights of vulnerable populations, the role of women in development in the global south, and the impacts of war and genocide.
Dr. Adera holds a Master’s of Education from Western University (Canada), a Master’s of Arts in Globalization from McMaster University (Canada), and a Doctor of Management in Organizational Behavior from the University of Maryland (Global Campus).
