Dr. Grant has taught at the collegiate level for 41 years and is an accomplished academic administrator. He served for 25 years in local government (16 as an elected official, five as President of the Newark City Council) and is a veteran of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s. Dr. Grant is the originator and founder of “Fathers Against Drugs,” and revived the New Jersey African American Heritage Parade, an annual event which attracts more than 50,000 people. Dr. Grant has 6 degrees. He received his Ph.D. in Public Administration from the Union Institute & University, Cincinnati, Ohio. He has an MBA from Nyack University in NY. He has another MBA and a MSc from Chadwick University Birmingham, Alabama and a BS and BA from Shaw University in North Carolina.
