Nishanth Thomas, Ed.D.

Associate Dean of Student Development and Associate Professor

Prof. Nishanth C. Thomas currently serves as Associate Professor and Director of Spiritual Development at Pillar College. In this role, he serves as the Student Government Association (SGA) advisor, assists in planning and leading SGA events, manages chapel services, assists in finding student support resources, and provides pastoral counseling to the student body.

He is an ordained minister with the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). Prior to joining Pillar College, he had pastored three different congregations in New Jersey and also served at two mission organizations.  He is a prolific writer and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. In addition, Prof. Thomas is a much sought-after speaker at national and international conferences.

Prof. Thomas completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, and Society along with an Education major at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He then earned his Master of Divinity degree from Alliance Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Studies at Biola University.

His passion is to see spiritual renewal occur in the lives of people through theological education and transformative encounters with God.
