Program Overview

The MA in Counseling Program is designed to 
provide students with a comprehensive academic and experiential training in the field of counseling with the specialty area of marriage, couples and 
family counseling from a Christian worldview.
Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the counseling profession, counselors’ personal dispositions, clinical expertise and cultural 
proficiency for preparation to provide mental and emotional wellness services to clients/families of culturally diverse backgrounds.

Unique features and benefits of the program

• The MA in Counseling Program, specializing in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling, will be delivered in a cohort-based schedule format, providing face-to-face instruction
• The program design is governed by the 60-credit, 2016 CACREP accreditation program standards (currently pursuing CACREP accreditation)
• The MA in Counseling Program meets the foundational requirements of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and New Jersey Licensure as a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• 2 year Expected Program Completion; including 6-week and 2-week summer intensive courses

The MA in Counseling Program is designed to prepare counseling graduates for successful careers in the following
• Psychiatric Hospital Units/Treatment and Case Management
• Non-profit Treatment Services, includes in-patient services, outpatient services, intensive outpatient services, residential programs for various client populations
• Educational Institutions, includes academic advising, student counseling services, student affairs/campus life and career centers
• School-based program (public and private school settings)
• Churches and Parachurch Ministries, Church Counseling Ministries and Services

Course Schedule

• Option 1: Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
• Option 2: Saturdays 8:00 am to 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
