Scholarships and Grants available for Pillar College

PILLAR COLLEGE GRANTS/SCHOLARSHIPS for UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
  • For full time students only and GPA 2.0 or above.
  • Stipends will not be generated unless indicated.
  • No other Pillar College Grants or Scholarships will be applied other than the Referral Scholarship & NYTap if required.

B.E.S.T for MEN Scholarship (Limited Scholarship for the first 10 students)

The B.A. degree in Elementary Education Scholarship (BEST for MEN Scholarship) is available to the first 10 new students enrolling in the B.A. in Elementary Education as a full-time student. Accepted and eligible students can receive up to $15,000 annually (up to $7,500 per semester is applied towards tuition costs; all other fees will need to be paid by the student). No stipend can be created.

Eligible applicants must meet all Pillar College Admissions requirements and either earn the qualifying score on the Praxis Core Academic Skills Assessment or provide an ACT or SAT score that is at or above the cut score designated in the year the exam was taken.

New students who:

  • Enroll in the B.A. in Elementary Education in the Licensure Track.
  • Apply for the BEST Scholarship prior to the beginning of every award year.
  • Are committed to the completion of the B.A. in Elementary Education.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Further requirements include:

  • Completion of FAFSA annually (if applicable).
  • No funding will be available if a student is in default status with student loans.
  • Signing the estimate and/or Loan Declaration Form.
  • If applicable, sign a payment plan for the balance due, or make use of available financial aid.
  • Renewal of scholarship is always dependent upon making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) of GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Students must apply for the BEST Scholarship prior to the beginning of every award year.
  • Must be accepted prior to the fall semester or spring semester start dates.
  • Be enrolled full time (12 credits or more).
  • Continue in sequential enrollment until graduation in the B.A. Elementary Education major.

Criteria:

  • Students must apply in the beginning of each fiscal year to be processed.
  • All Federal and State funding will apply towards semester costs, excluding book charges.
  • All awards must apply only to tuition within the current semester.
  • The BEST Scholarship is exclusive to B.A. Elementary Education major students; no other Pillar College Grants or Scholarships will be applied (other than the one-time staff or student Referral Scholarship).
  • Stipends will only be generated off student loans.
  • Students will lose the BEST Scholarship if the student transfers to another major.
  •  Students will lose eligibility if they withdraw from Pillar College.
New Student that enrolls in Biblical Studies Major & Associates Degree students and BLEND who graduate with an A.A. and who enroll in the Biblical Studies bachelor’s degree will qualify for the DES Biblical Studies Scholarship for the third and fourth year only after they enroll full time in the bachelor’s degree.) (*$7500 is applied for tuition costs per semester, all other fees will need to be paid by the student. Students will lose the DES Biblical Studies Scholarship if the student transfers to another major or fails to complete the BA in Biblical Studies consecutively. No Stipend can be created. No need to re-apply.
New students will enroll as full-time status (12 credits or higher) at Pillar College during the first two years of their college experience. After financial aid is applied, accepted students can receive up to an annual amount of $9500** for the Free Tuition Scholarship. (*$4750 may be applied per semester for tuition costs, all other fees will need to be paid by the student.) No Stipend can be created. No need to re-apply.
Offsetting the loss of New York State Financial Aid (NYTAP / New York Tuition Assistance Program), Pillar College offers $5665 per fiscal year 2021-2022 award year as institutional aid (NY TAP REMEDIATION) for full time undergraduate students. Our present low tuition of $22,056 will be reduced by whatever Federal and NY TAP Remediation Grant. Be a current and remain as a New York Resident where New York State is the legal state of residence while earning an associate’s or bachelor’s degree at Pillar College. If eligible, students will qualify for PC Grants. No need to re-apply.
Pillar College awards a School District Employee Grant of up to $500 to students who are currently employed in any capacity by a local school district Board of Education, or at an established private school or homeschooling association. To qualify for this grant supporting documents are needed: Paystub, employee tag, letter from school. No need to re-apply.

Need to apply every fiscal year.

The award is granted to full time returning students who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25 during their matriculation at Pillar College. Award amount is up to $500 per semester. This will create a stipend. Need to apply every fiscal year.

Pillar College awards a Referral Scholarship to a currently matriculated degree-seeking student who refers a new degree-seeking student to Pillar College. The award is the dollar amount equivalent up to the cost of 3 credits and will be adjusted so no stipend is generated after other funding have been applied.
Criteria:

  1. The referred student/friend enrolls full time, completes the semester and registers for the next semester as a full-time student. Satisfactory Academic Progress of 2.0 or higher is mandatory.
  2. The student who referred the student/friend, will receive the equivalent of 3 credits (funding of one course) * the following semester after which they referred their student/friend. Full -time status is a requirement for the referred student/friend. Satisfactory Academic Progress of 2.0 or higher is mandatory.
The Pillar College Veterans Scholarship is awarded each fall and each spring to only one student each time. Application for the $500 Scholarship is required. The student must be or had been a veteran of any of the armed services of the United States of America and must have been discharged honorable. The student must be enrolled in the Department of Veterans Affairs benefits program and be a full-time student at Pillar College for the semester in which it is applied.

The M.A. degree in Ministry Leadership Scholarship is available to full-time Ministry Leadership students who are currently in ministry full-time in a church. Accepted students can receive up to $600 per semester as a full time student. To qualify for this grant supporting documents are needed: Paystub, employee tag, letter from school. No Stipend can be created. No need to re-apply.
The M.A. degree in Psychology and Counseling Scholarship is available to full-time professional counselors who are currently employed in a counseling center or facility. Accepted students can receive up to $600 per semester as a full-time student. To qualify for this grant supporting documents are needed: Paystub, employee tag, letter from school. No Stipend can be created. No need to re-apply.
The M.A. degree in Business Administration Scholarship is available to full-time students who are currently employed in business administration, social sector or non-profit. Accepted students can receive up to $600 per semester as a full-time student. To qualify for this grant supporting documents are needed: Paystub, employee tag, letter from school. No need to re-apply.
